Privacy at RepoReel
This page explains the information used to run the public repository feed and sponsored placement checkout.
Public GitHub information
RepoReel retrieves public repository metadata and public issue or discussion signals from GitHub. This can include repository names, descriptions, topics, star and fork counts, commit details, public usernames, avatars, and public comments. RepoReel uses this information to assemble and rank the feed. Source data can change or become unavailable, so cached results may be shown.
Sponsored placement information
When a buyer starts sponsored placement checkout, RepoReel receives the offer name, destination URL, buyer email, optional description, optional promotion code, selected package, and the page where checkout began. These details are sent to Stripe as checkout metadata so the submission and payment can be reviewed together.
Payments
Stripe hosts the payment page and processes card details. RepoReel does not collect card numbers on its own pages. Stripe handles payment information under its own privacy terms. RepoReel can receive payment status, customer contact details, and transaction records needed to review and administer a placement.
Ads and browser storage
RepoReel loads a MagicAds banner. MagicAds can receive the current domain and path, referrer, placement and interaction events, and a browser-generated session identifier. Its script uses browser session or local storage to operate placements, rotation, and measurement. Sponsored RepoReel placements in the main feed are separate from the MagicAds banner and are labeled as sponsored.
Technical logs and sharing
Hosting and security infrastructure can process routine request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, response status, and time. Information is shared with service providers only as needed to run the site, process checkout, deliver ads, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. Public GitHub links and Stripe or advertiser destinations are third-party services with their own practices.
Choices and questions
Browser controls can limit storage, though doing so may affect ads or other site behavior. Buyers should use an email address they control at checkout because that address is the reference for order-related questions and updates. If an active order has correspondence, reply through that thread to request access, correction, or deletion of the submitted placement details where applicable.
